Esperero Trail #25

A long, rugged climb from Sabino Canyon past Rattlesnake Canyon and Cardiac Gap toward The Window and the high country of the Catalinas.

Esperero Trail #25 starts in the desert floor and works steadily upward through saguaro slopes, rock-walled canyons, and hanging meadows. The grade stiffens past Cardiac Gap as the trail winds toward Geronimo Meadow and the ridge below The Window. Expect big vert, changing life zones, and exposed stretches where heat and weather matter as much as fitness.
