Sabino Canyon Trail #23

A canyon-wall traverse that leaves the shuttle road and climbs high above Sabino Creek, linking into the upper canyon and the Arizona Trail.

Sabino Canyon Trail #23 starts where the pavement ends and the real canyon begins. Tight switchbacks pull you up the east wall to long views over the road, creek, and surrounding ridges. Beyond the first climb the trail undulates across rocky Sonoran slopes, tying into Phoneline and the AZT for deeper, longer days in the Catalinas.
